We have completed the first 4 new fishing platforms at Radbrook Pool for the first phase. Phase two will be the addition of some new footpath in areas leading into the wooded area. Phase three will be another 5 fishing platforms later in the year.
The last phase for this year will be some tree maintenance work and this will complete this years works on Radbrook Pool in the autumn.
The project will greatly improve Radbrook Pool for access and create more surface area and movement to improve water quality for the fish and wildlife.
We are currently carrying out repairs and to river platforms and strimming on Monkmoor, Sydney Avenue, County Ground, Quarry, Emstrey, Oxon,Mousecroft and Radbrook Pools.
Additionally we will be installing 2 replacement platforms at Sydney Avenue and 4 in the Quarry. The replacement platforms are part of an Angling Trust Environment Agency fisheries improvement grant that we were successfully awarded. The funding awarded is match funded and comes from Environment Agency rod licence monies. These works will last for about a month and most will be completed by the start of the new river season on June 16th.
On Tuesday works to improve Monkmoor lane will take place to remove the deep potholes with a much improved surface and land strength. We will work on the lane every year to hopefully make it stronger.
Thanks go to all our contractors, our partners Shrewsbury Town Council and fisheries staff for working hard to complete these projects. Your memberships and day permit help us achieve these projects to improve your fishing experience.
Tight lines.
