As you may be aware the Government has relaxed the restrictions on Fishing due to the Corona Virus and expresses that they can open their Fisheries for pleasure fishing only as individuals or with a member of their family. The Fisheries can only open provided that they can be safe and with social distancing measures in place.
After discussions today with Shrewsbury Town Council who own our Fisheries, we have decided that, due to the General Public being present at our various locations for exercise etc, it would be sensible to keep our Fisheries for fishing closed until June 1st. We have to think of everyone’s safety including our staff. We will review the situation by June 1st. With respect to the rivers being closed, with exception to Salmon and Trout fishing and that Mousecroft Pool has development works for two weeks, we would in any case only have Radbrook Pool to satisfy angling for our members.
In this time that is available we can work to prepare all the fisheries in readiness for opening as best as we can.
We want everyone to get back to Angling as soon as possible, to enjoy they’re sport but remain safe. We have added Four months onto every members season permit for this year, provided you all renew your permit by it’s renewal date. This helps compensate for your lost fishing time. I know this year has been difficult to all our members with floods and now this. We will get back as soon as we can and we will keep improving your fisheries to help you enjoy the sport you love.
Oxon Pool is nearly ready too and for those of you who have already registered to join this new and different facility, we will be sending details out next week via email. Anyone else interested should email me at info@shrewsburytownfisheries. co.uk
Thank you for your patience.
