A much better days sport was anticipated today and that was the case at the top of the County Ground down to peg 20 and the location of the start of the CSO outflows. It was apparent as to what I saw today in and around the river that what sewage had been released into the river over the previous few days has had a significant impact on the fish. I will be talking about this in a future post. The river level 1.2m and falling.
The overall match winner today was Ian “Speedy” Ward showing his Shrewsbury talent with a superb weight of 14-9-0 consisting of big perch, roach and dace.Second was Ian Hughes with 5-8-4 from peg 74 showing the class angler he is. Dave Feeney took third spot with 5-2-8 of small dace followed by Darren Frost in fourth with a weight of 4-8-4 consisting of a big chub.
Full festival concluding results will be posted up tomorrow.
