We would like to update you on the following for the river and pools with respect to being open or closed for fishing.
The River Severn Fisheries Sydney Avenue, Monkmoor, Emstrey, The Quarry, County Ground and Doctors Field are open for Coarse Fishing.
As the water temperature is around 17.3c, Salmon fishing can now reopen with anglers applying protective fish care.
Pike fishing will reopen on 1st September and will be confirmed in an update.
The Reabrook remains closed until we have more significant rain water.
Mousecroft Pool is open. We ask that you limit Ground Bait and Carp Bait use to help with oxygen levels.
Radbrook Pool is closed for fishing due to very low water levels until further notice.
Oxon Pool is closed for fishing until further notice. We will notify all members with respect to memberships when required by Email otherwise all remains as it is.
All closures are to protect the fish and wildlife and to preserve oxygen levels as best as we can.
Fisheries Works:
We have recently completed the installation of four new river platforms, one at Sydney Avenue and three more at Emstrey. These were match funded by an Environment Agency fisheries improve grant and we would like to thank them for their continued help with the projects. Also a thank you to our contractors Bob and Tony for their continued help excellent installation work as always.
Junior Fishing:
We have had a large increase in Junior members again this year for which is very positive for the future of angling.
However we must remind all Junior Anglers parents that they must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 who is responsible for them when fishing on our fisheries. Our Junior season permits are free, must be obtained before fishing and please ensure that the fisheries rules and conditions are read with respect to our fisheries. We live in a different world today and we need to be sure our junior anglers are safe.
Enjoy your fishing.
