We have been made aware by neighbouring Angling Clubs and Associations in the Cheshire area that an Aermonas Bacteria Infection is spreading through their waters.
All Shrewsbury Town Fisheries permit holders must do everything they can to help prevent this spreading to our fisheries.
With immediate effect KEEP-NETS are not permitted to be used on Mousecroft, Radbrook or Oxon Pools. (Rule 22 has been updated)
You MUST ensure your all nets are completely dry before fishing on any of our waters.
Last Sunday 25th May we had three individuals removing three tench from Mousecroft Pool. The police were called and their vehicle searched and the three fish were found. Removing or putting fish into a fishery without permission is a serious offence and in this instance is theft. We will always work with the police or environment agency and prosecute.
A fisheries member tipped us off after seeing suspicious activity and we thank him for contacting us.
We work hard to protect our fisheries and fish. Please help us do that.
