New River Season and Fisheries Works Update 14th June 2024:

New Season:

With the new river season approaching we wish all anglers a cracking new season. Fishing starts at dawn on Sunday morning 16th June. Anglers should not be arriving until just before dawn on all of our river fisheries. Please park sensibly in the permitted areas and respect the local residents. Keep the noise down. Make sure you take your litter home with you. Make sure you are carrying your required permit for inspection by our water bailiffs. We do not sell them on the banks. They carry an authorised ID badge and please respect our fisheries staff. Ensure you read the fisheries rules and conditions as there are specific’s for some fisheries.

Fisheries Works:

Our contractors have been very busy strimming, installing New Platforms and carrying a large number of repairs throughout our river sections, the Quarry, County Ground, Monkmoor, Emstrey and Sydney Avenue. Two platforms at Sydney Avenue are half finished awaiting new steps which will be completed by the end of next week. These works have taken over 3 weeks by Bob, Tony and Paul following behind with the replacement stone. Well done guys for all your hard work and high standard as always. Some of the river works is part funded by a successful Environment Agency Angling Trust Fisheries improvement grant.
In addition we have repaired the lane at Monkmoor with a stronger base of a 100 ton of big stone and cover with a mixed surface. More works will be added to further reinforce the surface later. A big thank you to Michael and Ian Bailey of ISB Contracting for working on this project.
We shall next be moving back to Radbrook Pool to continue with some new pathing, another 5 new fishing platforms and some tree work in the autumn. A further update will be posted as we progress with this project.

Enjoy your fishing and please protect our works.

Tight Lines.
